Gammon Steaks with Caramelized Onion And Apple
Zutaten für 2 Portionen Menge anpassen
die Zutaten:
1 Esslöffelvegetable oil
25 GrammButter; (1oz)
Red Onions finely sliced
 Lengthways
Red skinned apple; cored, quartered
 And cut into slices
Cm; (1 inch) piece fresh
 Root ginger, peeled
 And finely grated
1 EsslöffelSoft light brown sugar
1 Esslöffelred wine vinegar
2 EsslöffelWater; (2 to 3)
 salt
 black pepper freshly ground
225 gram pac tendersweet lightly smoked gammon
 Steaks
die Zubereitung:

Heat the oil and butter in a frying pan, add the onions and apple slices and gently fry until they become golden brown and caramelized. Stir occasionally, takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

Squeeze the grated root ginger over the onions and apples extracting all the juice, and stir in.

Add the sugar, vinegar and water with seasoning to taste and allow to simmer for 1-2 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and keep warm, stirring occasionally.

Cook the gammon steaks following instructions on the pack and serve with the sauce.

Notes Accompany with creamed mashed potato and a green vegetable.
