(small) diced cooked chicken (or 1 and 1/2 cup diced cooked chicken)

Uncooked rice (I use uncle Ben's long grain)

Sliced mushrooms (or 1 cup fresh)

Sliced water chestnuts rinsed & drained

Cooked sliced carrots (optional)

Seasoning packet from a regular box of chicken Rice-a Roni*
die Zubereitung:
Saute rice in butter until it turns white. Add remaining ingredients, and stir. Bring to a boil. Cover tightly, and simmer for 20 min, or until done. Makes 7 cups. Freezes well
* You can just put the rice & pasta from the box away and add it to the kids soup someday, or something.
