Mix Sugar And Butter. Add Egg And Flavorings. Mix Thoroughly. Mix Flour Soda And Cream Of Tartar. Mix Into Sugar Mixture. Refrigerate For 2 To 3 Hours. Heat Oven To 375 F. Divide Dough In Half And Roll To A Thickness Of 3/16" On A Floured Surface. Cut With Cookie Cutter To Desired Shape. Place On Lightly Greased Cookie Sheets. Recipe makes a very tender dough.
