1/2 Tasse | onions diced |
2 Teelöffel | Olive oil; or vegetable oil |
2 | cloves garlic minced |
3 Tasse | Italian tomatoes; canned, pureed |
3 Esslöffel | Fresh basil; chopped or |
2 Teelöffel | basilicum dried |
3 Tasse | Ziti pasta; cooked |
6 x ca. 30 g | Turkey sausage; cooked, crumbled |
1/2 Tasse | Ricotta cheese; part skim milk |
2 Esslöffel | parmesan grated |
2 x ca. 30 g | Mozzarella shredded |
In a microwave safe casserole (1 1/2 quarts) combine oil, onion and garlic; stir thoroughly to coat. Microwave on high for 1 minute, until onion is tender. Stir in tomatoes and basil; cover and microwave on high for 10 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes. Transfer 1 1/2 cup of the tomato mixture to medium mixing bowl, and add ziti, sausage, ricotta and parmesan. Mix well. Spray casserole w/Pam. Spread ziti mixture evenly in casserole. Spread remaining tomato mixture evenly over ziti. Sprinkle with mozzarella. Microwave on high for 8 minutes till heated through and cheese is melted.
