Lentil Burgers are an inexpensive substitute for meat patties.
Rinse, drain and mash lentils in a large bowl. Add bread crumbs, onion, celery, water, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Mix well and form into 4 burgers, each about 5/8 inch thick.
Heat oil in frypan; brown burgers on both sides over medium heat, about 5 min per side. Top each with half a cheese slice.
