Peel sweet potatoes and cut in half. In saucepan, cover potatoes with water and bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until not quite cooked. Drain; cut into 2-inch slices. In wide saucepan, melt butter; stir in maple syrup, salt, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg until well blended. Add sweet potatoes, turning to coat well; cook for about 10 minutes or until potatoes are glazed and cooked through. Serve immediately as is or mashed. Makes 8 servings.
