1 Tasse | lentils dried |
1/2 Tasse | Dried split peas |
2 | carrots peeled, sliced |
2 | Stalks celery; peeled and cubed |
1 klein | Onion; peeled and cut up |
9 | Bouillon cubes (chicken) |
9 Tasse | Water (or you can use fresh chicken broth) |
3/4 Tasse | Rice (any kind) |
1 | (up to) |
2 | Chicken breasts; deboned and cubed or sliced |
1 Teelöffel | sage |
1 Teelöffel | thyme |
1 Teelöffel | coriander |
1 Teelöffel | black pepper |
1 Esslöffel | parsley dried |
Easy Easy Lentil/Split Pea Soup (relatively fat free)
Put water and bouillon cubes in a pot on the stove and boil. Add lentils and split peas when boiling. Add the remaining ingredients and cook until vegetables are soft (about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes). It is really good, and so easy. It comes out a little thick, so if you want something more "soupy", just add more water.
I have played around with the ingredients to this recipe, and add other things that are on hand (you could use ham instead of chicken). It has always turned out good.
