Put raisins in bowl and pour water over them, set aside for about 10 minutes. This will plump the raisins. Cream shortening, eggs and sugar. Sift flour, soda, salt, cloves, ginger, and cinnamon. Add to sugar mixture, alternately with molasses. Drain raisins and add to mixture. Spread in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
