Beat together flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, shortening, and eggs. Add milk, vanilla, and almond extract. Beat on high for 3 minutes. Stir in nuts. Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 375 for 50-60 minutes
Do Not Overbake. This cake has a tendency to be very dry if not taken out as soon as it is done. Test with an inserted knife - if it comes out clean, it's done.
Sprinkle with confectionary sugar. Serve with whipped cream.
