2 Packung | dry yeast |
1/2 Tasse | water warm |
4 Tasse | flour |
2/3 Tasse | sugar |
1 Teelöffel | salt |
3/4 Tasse | butter |
1/2 Tasse | Milk, scalded, cooled |
2 gross | Eggs slightly beaten |
2 Esslöffel | Butter melted |
4 Tasse | Apples, peeled, cored, slice |
1/4 Tasse | Butter melted |
1/4 Tasse | sugar |
1/4 Teelöffel | cinnamon |
Sweet Dough: Sprinkle yeast over warm water; stir to dissolve. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in large mixing bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add combined milk, eggs, and yeast to dry ingredients; mix well. Brush with butter. Cover; chill overnight.
Apfel Kuchen: Bring dough to room temperature.
Divide dough in half; spread into 2 buttered 8" square pans. Press apples into dough. Brush dough with butter. Sprinkle with combined sugar and cinnamon.
Cover; let dough rise in warm place until doubled. Bake in preheated 350°F oven 40-45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
