Mix the apple, currants, cinnamon and sugar together.
Roll out the pastry to a rectangle. Place the apple mix down the centre and dot on the marzipan.
Make some slashes, either side of the mixture and fold over carefuly to form a plait.
Brush with egg and bake in a hot oven 220 °C/425ø/gas mark 7 for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
Mix the icing sugar with the water and drizzle over the pastry.
Leave to set and then slice.
