Directions: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a separate bowl, combine the butter spread, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer until creamy. Add the egg whites and apple sauce and beat well. Gradually add the flour mixture, stirring well to combine. Fold in the chocolate chips. Drop the batter by rounded teaspoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned. Let cool completely on cookie rack. Makes 2 dozen. 1 gram fat.
