Pre-heat the oven to 190 °C/375°F/Gas Mark 5. Melt the margarine, sugar and syrup together. Stir in the oats. Grease a 28 x 18cm/11 x 7 inch tin and spoon the mixture into it. Press into the base of the tin and level, Bake for about 20 minutes. Mark into portions but leave in the tin to cool.
Muesli flapjacks:
Use the above recipe but add an extra tablespoon/15ml golden syrup, reduce the amount of oats to 100g/4oz and add 100g/4oz muesli.
