Butter a *jelly roll pan well. Line the pan with crackers. In a saucepan melt the butter or margarine. Add the brown sugar and cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Spread mixture over crackers. Bake in a 375 F. oven for 5 minutes. Remove to a rack and put chocolate chips and nuts on top of crackers. Return to turned off oven just until the chips are softened. Spread the softened chocolate to cover the crackers. Refrigerate until chocolate is set. Makes 4 dozen.
A little goof from someone who "cooks a lot". All these years I have been meaning to buy a jelly roll pan. As a matter of fact, there are recipes that I have not made because of meaning to buy a jelly roll pan. I have, though, been, unbeknownst to me, cooking with a jelly roll pan for low these ? many years. That thing that I thought was a cooky sheet with sides that go about 1/3 inch up is known as a jelly roll pany. A real cooky sheet has no sides. So now you all have learned something today.
