1. Line a lamington tin with Glad Bake. Pre-heat oven to 180deg.C.
2. Place brown sugar, baking powder and flour in a food processor and mix to combine. Add butter and process until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Press half the mixture into a lamington tin. Place the remaining half in a mixing bowl.
3. Dissolve bi-carbonate of soda in milk and add to the dry mixture with the egg and nutmeg. Mix well, then pour over the base. Sprinkle with cherries and walnuts.
4. Bake in oven for about 40 minutes or until cooked when tested with a wooden skewer. Remove from oven and stand for 5 minutes before turning out onto a cake rack to cool completely. When cold, cut into fingers and dust with icing sugar before serving.
