Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease an 8 inch square pan.
Beat eggs until foamy. Beat in sugar and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into egg mixture. Mix in dates and nuts.
Bake 25-30 minutes, until top has a dull crust. Cut into 2 inch squares. Cool in pan.
If desired, dip in powdered sugar.
