1. Grind whitefish and halibut fillets together.
2. Combine fish with bread crumbs, salt, onion powder and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.
3. Add beaten egg; mix thoroughly.
4. Shape mixture into 8 fish balls; place in casserole dish.
5. Combine tomato sauce, peanut oil, seasoned salt and remaining 1/8 teaspoon pepper; pour over fish balls.
6. Bake, covered, in preheated 375'F. oven 45 minutes, or until done.
then, it has become a mainstay of Sabbath meals because it can be prepared well in advance. Gefilte fish may be prepared with any combination of locally available, firm-fleshed, white meat fish. It may be served as an appetizer or main dish.
