Blend the first 5 ingredients like a pie crust (set aside 1 cup). Add: The eggs, applesauce, and soda. Mix together. Put in a greased 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup nuts and remainder of 1 cup that was set aside. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes.
